Through the growing prevalence and availability of data, modern businesses have the opportunity to leverage it to their benefit – even more so in a case such as the case company of this thesis, which is a mobile application startup connecting restaurants to customers. The purpose and objective of the thesis was to provide a general overview and direction for the business toward becoming more data driven. The thesis was carried out based on interviews with stakeholders, to determine the business current state as it pertains to three main aspects – the application user path, the business, and data & analytics. Based on insights gathered through the interviews an initial assessment was conducted, giving direction to the analysis which resulted in the ultimate outcomes. The outcomes of the study were threefold. Firstly, an up-to-date process flow diagram of the user path was created in order to identify potential issues and bottlenecks. Secondly a long-term roadmap for analytics and data driven development was formulated to provide direction and guidance for the company. Finally, a table of actionable development items was compiled, providing the company with concrete, prioritized steps as they advance.
